Dear Tenants:

We are always looking for ways to improve the quality of your living experience here on Eastlake Terrace.

As you may recall, over the last few years you’ve seen such improvements as landscaping, new windows, tuckpointing and other features.

Our next major project however may provide the most direct benefit to you.

One of our goals is to install T-1 internet service connections to all apartments in all buildings. You will not need modems or special equipment....just plug a CAT5e cable from your desktop or laptop into the new wall outlets we will install. Use as many computers as you like.

For those who may not understand the significance of this amenity, a T-1 connection is the state-of-the-art interface between computer users and the world wide web. T-1’s are many times faster than other residentially available connection options such as satellite, cable modem, DSL or dial-up services. They provide highly consistent data transmission speed and suffer almost no downtime.

All tenants must cooperate in order to get this project completed. We hired an independent professional contractor who will need access to every apartment in the building. They will pull dedicated wires through the basements and up into each unit. These wires will most likely follow the track of your present cable wires, meaning they will pass through your closets or other existing wall pathways. Their required time in each unit will be about 10-15 minutes. There will be no mess or need to move any furniture. If you have a dog, please let us know when you can arrange to get the dog taken out for a while, caged or locked into a bedroom, etc. (Unless of course, the dog poses no threat to the workers.) When all the wiring is finished, you can just plug in and surf.

We hope to be finished within a week or ten days at most.

T his is my project and other people if the office don‘t have a technical clue what I am trying to do.. Please do not call them and ask computer questions. Mr. Conner will try to coordinate schedules with you directly. We will provide him with a temporary list of tenant names and respective unit addresses, including a contact telephone number.

If you’re a computer user, you will really enjoy this. Local residential providers cannot beat a T-1.

One more thing. I can't guarantee this project will be completed. Wireless technology is right on my tail and might overcome me before I finish. If that technology seems imminent, I might abandon the whole thing. Time will tell.
